About me

Hello! I am running as a candidate in the upcoming Municipal and Wellbeing Services County Election on 13 April 2025. I share my everyday life with my 19-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter. My family is my greatest source of strength and joy. In both my professional and free time, I’m deeply inspired by social and political issues and keep a close eye on international affairs. Staying active is also important to me—I enjoy outdoor exercise year-round, whether it’s trail running, skiing, or playing tennis. And together with friends, I take regular dips in our wonderful sea, no matter the season.

I’ve had the opportunity to live and work abroad several times throughout my life. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Political Science in Minnesota and my Master's in International Affairs in Washington, D.C. During my career, I’ve served at the Embassy of Finland in Washington and worked with the UK Ministry of Defence in London. Most of my career, I served for the Finnish Government as civil servant. Today, I work as Director at a consultancy that helps companies and organizations get their voices heard in governmental decision-making processes.

As I have lived abroad myself several times in my life, I understand the challenges of being from a different culture or speaking a different language. I want to help make Espoo a welcoming and supportive home for people arriving from outside Finland.

As Espoo continues to grow rapidly, we must ensure that our international residents can fully integrate into our society. Our schools and teachers need significantly more support to include non-Finnish-speaking students in classrooms effectively. We also need to create job opportunities for the spouses of international professionals, and ensure that schools and daycare centers are prepared to welcome international children.

Above all, we must make sure that the city’s fast growth is matched by the development of services—so that no one is left behind.
